Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, I am married to an Officer in the Royal Navy currently living in Ottawa with my 2 wee boys (Innes, 3 and Struan, 5) and our 2 border terriers.

I saw the opportunity to get involved with moving forward matters and jumped at it, having moved due to different military postings, most recently to Canada with just 1 container full of belongings for the whole family, I completely understand the feeling of leaving what feels like home and the fact that memories and belongings can sometimes feel inextricably linked. I have an amazing understanding of what it is to go through items which represent parts of your life and have to reconcile the emotional against the practical when deciding what to keep and believe this is invaluable when helping others in the process of downsizing.

I have helped my own grandmother though a difficult period when we lost my grandfather and have also worked in the care sector in hospitals and with seniors in retirement and care homes. I really enjoy building relationships and helping seniors and their families, and can empathize with the feelings evoked when going through the process of moving, decluttering and downsizing so I am really looking forward to getting involved with the great team at Moving Forward Matters.

Finally, I am aware of the need for ‘downtime’ and relax by skiing, scuba diving or (when I am feeling less energetic) I love to spend time listening to music and taking timeout with my family.
